0.75 x 2007 = ...

Good golly miss molly!

It's bloody September!!!

I won't lie and say I've been too busy to blog now because everyone knows it's bullshit (good 'ol big brother facebook). So what happened to August??
Ok I kinda cheated in my last post (NAB grad day part 2 was in August) so carrying on from there:
  • The Bananroos are out in full force again on Monday nights @ UWA
  • 11 Aug Kat & Efendi got married @ the Hyatt (congrats again guys!!)
  • 17 Aug had drinks with the NABbers @ tiger lils and got.... quite .... yeh u get it
  • 24 Aug attended Janice's first solo art exhibition @ MinniMon with art connoisseurs Lils n Guan and bought my first piece of art! :)
  • 29 Aug became part of the NAB Grad Committee (I can't stay away from these things!!!!!)
0.75 x 2007 = SEPTEMBER '07!
  • 1 Sep Guan topped off the round off birthday presents by getting us tickets to the Eagles vs Essendon (Sheedy and Hurd's last game). THANKS YOBO!!

At night Little Laura celebrated her 21st (Happy bday again chickie!) @ noneother than Universal Bar. Was fantastic to see everyone getting into the spirit and decking out (to the best of their ability (and budget of $3 @ Good Sammy's) in 60s attire. I am still in shock Stoff caved in to dress up (mind u not a blouse from the women's section like *cough* Al *cough* Scotty *cough*, but he opted for snapping suspenders ($7.5o) and a subtle bright fluro orange shirt ($4) in which I (hopefully) made it obivous we were going to a 60's party by scribbling that on his shirt:
I believe the night comprised of 30% dancing, 70% drinking and 100% stupid photo taking whilst dancing and drinking. In addition the top 3 items photographed during the night was at:
    #3... my boombox bag!
#2... stoff's suspenders (either on him or someone else... getting SCHANPPED)
    and at #1....
the 'POW' of k.cheangs ass (literally it was like... POW!)

  • 7 Sep celebrated 4 yrs with Christophe by myself because he's out on sight fixing big boys sutff :(
Ok not entirely by myself, at least work had our Quarterly Awards Night. Didn't get any award damnit... I want the Robin Award! But I did get a $50 Coles Myer Voucher for my efforts on one of the deals we had.... that was the only good thing that happened all day/night unfortunately. Dinner was @ the Atrium though we were quite distracted by the footy Showing at Paddy Hannan's. Yes 7 Sep 2007 was a sad sad day :(

  • 8 Sep christened my new staff credit card on Saturday by doing some serious damage @ the Merge sale with my bestest shopping buddy KaeLim Choo.
So yes that's the update for now (happy coombsee?? nah jk, nice to know my blog is on your priority list of things to help you procrastinate at work).
Not gonna put pics up because I'm too lazy atm and you can access them on facebook (calling all non-facebookers to get facebook and see ur photo)! The only other thing worth mentioning is the success I've had at converting non-believers into advocators of the DEEEEELICIOUSSS ICEY ICE (yes I'm a fan of mr cousins but not in that way).

Seriously.... I want a friggin penguin

Five Footer Finalists

*hi 5s* all round (pun intended)

Our Wednesday mixed netty team aka 5 footers have won our first ever semis tonight.
It’s our 3rd season and we’ve come along way from every call being ‘step’, ‘obstruction’ or some other bullshit random call (no we’re not bitter hahaha). We’ve done extremely well to make it to the semis right there in season 1 to now officially being called ‘finalists’.

So yes after all the outbursts of happiness, relief and just plain bragging, us 5 footers went to celebrate @ cino-to-go our victory against the team who had been top of the ladder for 98% of the season.

Here’s some happy snaps from tonight:

mmm cake.... (very well deserved)

5 footers
back row: GS jess, WA kae, WD taz, GK thao (captain)
front row: GA pete, C will, GD hong

our best attempt with serious faces
(that's right, couldn't contain the joy!)

and we'd like to thank our support...

Yes fairly gay photos and quite embarrassing at the time (it’s ok, the whole coffee shop was empty… either that or we scared potential customers away), I think it’s a fair call to say we all got so much 5 footer love, who gives a shit anyway!!

Finals are on this Sunday @ Lords (time to be advised) and more than likely we’ll be up against Jack and J-Thao’s team who are currently top of the ladder. To be honest we’re not the favourites and it’s big disappointment girl kae’s going to be in Kalgoorlie, but what ever happens at least we’ve made it to the next level.

*hi 5*

EOFY

Happy 1st of July!!!

It's the End of Financial Year baby!!! This now means at work we're able to take a slight breather and I'll be able to answer those emails I've accumulated in my work inbox...

Anywhoooo on 22nd of June our BBC went out for the quarterly awards:

  • Bowling @ Rosemount (dirty, dirty bowling centre)
  • Dinner @ Piccolo in North Perth (sooo good, highly recommended)
  • Drinks @ Niche Bar
entree table @ piccolo
(sorry I don't have the juicy pics. Will be getting them from Margaret soon!)

Last Friday the 29th of June was the last day to finalise many deals for clients. Fortunately our team had been receiving extra help and we actually finished the day before. This allowed me to focus on more important issues such as how to bounce a footy properly hence our building had a little asian girl running up and down doing footy drills with her shoes off (if I haven't already told you I'm the female representative for Perth West BBC for the NAB footy day @ subi oval on 16th of July 1pm-8pm and boy am I excited).

My intense training however was cut short when Miss Karen Cheang (NAB Debtor Finance Specialist team) came round to pick Jack and I to attend the End Of Financial Year cocktail function @ the Old Swan Brewery. I really enjoyed catching up with the Perth Central Crew I did my training with and being the initator of trash talking regarding the footy comp coming up. As you are probably aware from the picture below Jack provided many laughs and a halves, especially when he conspired with Cheang to ask randoms 3 questions by just using 3 little letters:

A S L ? ?

(2 question marks if confident)

Other youthful NABbers were unsuccessful in getting us to join them on a night on the town (I believe the look on exhibit A in the middle of the pic below says it all and my shoe broke dangnamit). Instead we headed out to bubble tea (^_^)V and loaded up icq @ Jack's place to ASL randoms .........nearly.

cheang, jack, mio leaving

No longer a 2 hit wonder

Last night the 5 footers headed out to none other than good 'ol Metros. Unfortunately Cuzzy wasn't there to take my request to get Juddy's authograph for me as he would've last week, but it was a great night out nonetheless.

As us girls (Thao, Xin, Taz, Kae and I) had an ALL YOU CAN EAT High Tea in the Hyatt until 4:30pm (Shaz we are so taking you when you get back), Taz and I had a late dinner @ 9:30pm being pizza and the other 5 footers joined us for bubble tea (^_^)V and fake chicken.

Facts of the metros night:

  • Felt so good just to dance (I can see you nodding in agreement taz)!
It's been too long since we last danced like that!

  • Some guy tried to pick up Girl Kae (note to boys: DO NOT attempt to pick up a girl by grabbing her side/back area. SAY HELLO AND INTRODUCE YOURSELF FIRST!)
hahaha but anyway *hi5* Girl Kae, you know you still got it! ;)

  • Instead of my 'no alcohol' or 'maximum 2 drinks' policy I put those Friday arvo work drinks practice into use. In bed I counted at least 13 drinks/shots (I think it's 15 but we'll say 13 to soften the blow...)

  • Some guy tried to pick up Cheang (note to boy: if you ask a girl can you buy her a drink and she says she's drinking water - complete with full bottle in hand - it does not mean you go buy her another!!!)
  • Cheang and I unsuccessfully tried to pay James $5 if he went up to a chick of our choice and asked: "ASL??" (that's right, 2 question marks)

  • Crawled into bed at 5:00am??

  • Due to 4 drinks @ the end being yager bombs I only got 2 hours of sleep (if even).

  • No I didn't yack or even feel like yacking (that title belongs to James & Co). The only thing besides a thumping head and lack of sleep was that I had to continously pee this whole morning hahaha

  • Lastly I may be a tomato as per the pics but I remember everything of the evening and therefore no I was not drunk, we all were just having a bloody good time so much so I was still dancing when I got home and when I woke up!!

don't cry over spilt milk

Question:

Your whole glass of coffee spills onto your lap. You are still holding the glass and you did not turn it upside down or accidentally tip it in anyway.

How is this possible?

p.s.
google won't help you with this one trev!!

Answer:

Sorry to keep you all hanging, busy busy, busy busy (plus no internet for a week)! Also I apologise in advance for the over hyped answer but this is what happened to me 2 Fridays ago when I went for our morning coffee with workmates!

My latte came in a 'tempered' glass in the shape of a V with a chunky base. I took it in my right hand, waved hello to Teresa (a manager) and Heather (Teresa's banker) walking in with my left and then all of a sudden I felt an extremely warm sensation on my lap. What the?... did I just drop my glass and spill the latte all over me?? Looking at my right hand I was still holding the glass so how did it transfer from the glass to my lap??

THE BOTTOM OF THE BLOODY GLASS HAD FALLEN OFF!

It was a clean break so lucky there wasn't any glass shattered among the joint but seriously.... the bottom of a glass falling off???

It was such a bizarre thing to happen I burst into hysterics and couldn't stop laughing whilst Jack, Rob (Jack's manager) and Shaun (my manager) were more concerned for my welfare seeing somewhat boiling water had just spilt onto my *ahem* area. As Rob said my face was 'classic' as I seriously sat there for a good whole moment trying to figure out what the hell just happened.

After helping me dry off a tad the waitress collected everyone else's coffee who were using the same glass then called the supplier who in turn apparently were going to recall all the glasses they sold.

I was seriously drenched in coffee so Shaun took me back to eden park to change. I didn't get a free coffee (well technically I did because our kind managers always pay) but if anything I learnt was not to cry over spilt milk... you can always get free dry cleaning. ;)

a pocket full of fun...

... that's how I describe Thao!

Last night we celebrated Thao and Paul's engagement at her house in city beach. CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN THAO AND PAUL!!

Even though I didn't drink much it was really a fun night whereby my 'abs' received the biggest work out in a very long time (most due to the moves of Han and how everytime he'd walk over us girls would try not to make eye contact as it'd provoke him even more so lol).

Must say I was extremely impressed with the outfits as everyone looked HOT and it was so nice to see everyone really celebrating the occasion and getting their freak on (some maybe a bit too much hahaha). It was also so good to see you Xin! Thanks to Thao's brilliant idea we flew you all the way over just for the night and in 3 weeks we'll be having a better chance to chat and gossip ;)

The 5 footers
(wed mixed netty team)

xin, kae, taz & i

cheers!

just like a I said, thao's a pocket full of fun
(and as per the above pic, very excited to be getting hitched)!

ART-AY
My canvas prints arrived on Friday!!
Being a big fan of canvas prints I took advantage of the Harvey Norman special 'buy one get one half price'. It came down to$375 for 2 ready to hang 40cm by 50cm.

BARGAIN!

Stoff likes fiddling around with the camera and experimenting a bit (especially when he's bored and waiting for something). These are my fav pics he's taken on 2 of our trips:

steph & mrs chung to finish shopping

lovin la vida labour day

Friday
Dinner with Stoff for our 3 yrs + 9 months anniversary 1 week in advance seeing Stoff's going offshore again tomorrow. We thought since we're working now we should live a little and try more restaurants and had been making an effort to go on the 7th of each month. Stoff hadn't been to (A)lure and seeing it was the last day to use the 06/07 entertainment card we just snucked a free meal in.
After dinner we took my dad to see Spiderman 3 as my mum's in New Zealand and to be honest it wasn't as bad as people have criticised (how drool worthy is James Franco!?! aka Harry/new Goblin)!

Saturday
Went with Stoff and Jack to visit Simon then popped into Ikea after to buy my 'Statist tree' jewellery hanger:

So much funkier than those horrid lady coat hangers don't you agree?

For dinner we went to 2 Fat Indian's in Mt Lawley for Stoff's dad's birthday which is apparently the best Indian restaurant in Perth. Though the decor was awesome I couldn't say much about the food - it was wayyyy too hot (though the garlic naan was yum-ie). As I didn't particularly want to die we checked to make sure no nuts (not even peanut oil) was used for our food. However being a typical oriental restaurant, "everything is o-k!" .... my ass! I ended up getting that lovely rash and feeling sick in the tummy so it happened to be an early night for me and not being able to celebrate Tuan's birthday at karaoke (hope you had a good one Tuan)!

Sunday
A lazy day where by in the arvo I brought my dad over to Jack's house for a mini coaching session of ping pong (on the way to see Simon on Saturday the topic came up that I'd give Jack 20 bucks if he could beat my dad in a game, so we set the challenge up at 3pm). One by one my dad defeated Stoff, Paul, Jack, Steve and Troy in singles and I quote Jack "your money is safe Jess". Good on ya dad!...... *phew*

(There's more videos under my YouTube nick jezzasjibe but are private. If anyone knows how I can make it so only you guys can watch them them please let me know!)

Monday
Another lazy day (how I miss sleeping in) except the evening where us Bananaroos had our grand finals! Previously during the season we had beaten the Socceremus (you may recall a post where I was quite excited as coombsee was playing) but it wasn't our night tonight and the Socceremus outplayed us. We lost 0 - 3 but we all kept pushing right to the end. On the plus side we did get runner-up medals and it was a gallant effort being our first season!

Before the big game
Back row: Ian (stoff's), Ian (jess'), Kol, Stoff & Will
Front row: Anabel, jess, Anna & Lils

After the game making sure our medals aren't chocolate

Well done team and we shall look forward to next season hey? :)
